These trainings are available on SuccessFactors: Learning Management System (LMS). These trainings will be scheduled again in fall 2023. Learn more and register.

Foundations of 2SLGBTQ+ Concepts and Identities

This foundational course will provide participants with a framework for understanding core concepts and terminologies about sexual and gender diversity, including 2SLGBTQ+ identities. The session will examine homophobia, transphobia, and other forms of oppression with an intersectional lens to understand how these concepts operate in our daily lives and work environments. Participants will be offered strategies for challenging oppression and building more 2SLGBTQ+ inclusive campus communities.

Schedule:  Will return fall 2023.

Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Building a Gender-Inclusive University

This introductory workshop is intended for employees who want to learn about core concepts about gender, including gender identity, gender expression, and trans and nonbinary identities. The session will also address relevant and current gender-inclusive policies and best practices for students and employees at the university. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about pronouns, inclusive language strategies, and there will be opportunities to ask questions and engage in discussions about collectively building more equitable and gender-inclusive learning and working environments.

Schedule:  Will return fall 2023.

2SLGBTQ+ Discrimination and Harassment in the Workplace

This session will explore how homophobic and transphobic discrimination and harassment can manifest in the workplace. Participants will learn about the relevant policy landscape for managing discrimination and harassment. Building on this, participants will explore how to foster a changing and inclusive workplace culture for 2SLGBTQ+ employees and communities.

Schedule: Will return 2023.

Continued Conversations about Gender and Trans-Inclusion

Building on the core concepts learned in “Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Building a Gender-Inclusive University,” participants will engage in more in-depth discussions about where we learn about gender and examine gender norms and expectations. This session will explore how transphobic myths are pervasive and participants will work together to consider the impacts for individuals and campus communities. Participants will be encouraged to work together to develop strategic ways of responding to infrastructural challenges disproportionately impacting trans and nonbinary students, staff, faculty, and librarians.

Note: This course requires completion of “Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Building a Gender-Inclusive University” before taking this one.

Schedule:  Will return fall 2023.
