The 16^th annual Queer Orientation 2021 is set for the week of September 20-24, 2021!

At this meeting, we spend more time discussing ideas, plans, and collaborations for this year's QO week.

What is Queer Orientation?

Queer Orientation (QO) is an annual series of LGBTQ2S+ focused programming across all three campuses of U of T during the last week of September. This year, Queer Orientation is set for the week of September 20-24, 2021. QO is an opportunity for new and returning students, staff, faculty and librarians to make connections, engage in activities and have discussions related to LGBTQ2S+ communities.

How will the SGDO support Queer Orientation planning this year?

Queer Orientation planning will look a little different this year.  As the SGDO is currently short-staffed, our organizing capacity will be a bit reduced from previous years.

• SGDO will host 1-2 planning meetings for opportunities for ideas, connections, and collaborations
• SGDO will host the QO calendar of events
• SGDO will develop QO digital promotional materials that can be shared with all QO partners
• SGDO can provide some support to groups during the planning process, though this support is reduced from previous years

Will it be virtual or in person?

The SGDO is currently planning for a virtual September start for our programming, and we anticipate that many other QO partners will do the same. We also know that some parts of campus are planning for some in-person programming. Please follow local guidelines and directions for the most appropriate planning for your group, unit, or department and plan your Queer Orientation events accordingly.
