Join us (virtually) for Display Your Pride 2021!
On Thursday, June 17th, 2021 all three campuses of U of T will be celebrating Pride Month and #UofTPride with the annual #DisplayYourPride event! Staff, students, alumni and faculty are all invited to join in on the fun. Show off your creative flair and fabulous colours by decorating your office or student space in support of Pride! There are no limitations – show us what YOUR pride looks like. Ways to get involved can be anything from decorating your door, to dressing up, to creating a piece of artwork, to putting up colourful balloons or painting your face – anything goes!
We are thrilled to be participating in this event for the 7th year alongside Ryerson U, OCAD U, York U, and Humber College! Let’s celebrate our PRIDE, build awareness and create safer, more LGBTQ-affirming spaces on all our campuses.
On June 17, post your photos using the #DisplayYourPride and #UofT hashtags, as well as your campus’ hashtag (#UTSC, #UTSG, or #UTM).
Looking to create something to share?
This year, we will be hosting crafting sessions for students, staff, and faculty to come together virtually for a social event to meet, mingle, and create both virtual and physical crafts to use as part of the #DisplayYourPride event. As part of this event, there will be 3 facilitated sessions where participants will be invited to join 2 facilitators – one artistic (Mahfam Nikoo) and one social (Ravisha Mall, Shannon Giannitsopoulou, and Chad Jankowski) – as they partake in the activities. Please sign up to join in on the crafting fun! The schedule of these sessions is below:
- Canva: Tuesday June 8, 3-4:30pm, hosted by Ravisha and Mahfam (Participants will use a free version of the online platform - Canva - to create a Zoom background using text, images and creative colours!)
- Hand Crafts: Friday June 11, 11am-12:30pm, hosted by Shannon and Mahfam (Participants will be invited to use items often found around the home to create a Pride-inspired crafts such as DIY face masks, scrunchies, paper decor, and more!)
