On December 9, 12PM-2PM, come to 800 Bay St, Workshop Room B (5th Floor).

Take a break from exams, studies, and papers to drop-in on a space for Black queer, trans, and gender expansive students! This is a space for Black students from St. George, UTM, and UTSC to meet new people, chat about Blackness, queer & trans and gender expansive identities, and experiences in academia. All over good food!

This is a collaboration between U of T Student Life, Student Engagement and the Sexual & Gender Diversity Office.

Join facilitator terra Mitchell-Baisden (he/they) and BGSA VP Shu'ayb (they/them) in a drop-in space centring Black queer, trans, and gender expansive students.

terra (he/they) is a trans, gender explorative, multi-disciplinary artist, educator, and co-director of a peer support group. Their work focuses on mental health, the gender continuum, and reimagining our collective future. He hopes to continue to curate spaces in which they and other black queer people can express and support one another.

Shu‘ayb (they/them) is a trans, medical science graduate researcher and Vice-President of the Black Graduate Students Association. Their work focuses on computational neuroscience to elucidate the omic signatures of race and disparities and intersectional pro-Black activism through volunteerism. They hope to create a space where all Black voices can be heard and respected.
