Make new friends, learn leadership skills, and have conversations on how we want to build LGBTQ2S+ communities at U of T and beyond!
Our campuses, cities and communities thrive when LGBTQ2S+ students are supported in developing their leadership skills. Since 2009, the Lead with Pride (LWP) conference series has provided over a thousand students opportunities to gain skills to make a positive impact on U of T and beyond, to move our communities towards a more inclusive present and future for all of us.
Though we are apart during COVID times, it is still important for us to connect with one another to meaningfully explore issues that impact our communities and to build our capacity to face these challenges together.
This year’s 2021 Lead with Pride Conference Series will be held virtually between February 24 – March 11, 2021. All interested U of T students are welcome to register for free to be a part of the 2021 Lead with Pride Learning Community!
Are you a U of T staff, faculty, librarian or alumni? Join us at the Lead with Pride Speaker Series! Register for just the Speaker Series.
What is the “Learning Community”?
The “Learning Community” was created in an attempt to keep students connected with one another beyond individual events. We want to offer students the opportunities to connect and make friends like they would have at an in-person conference. By signing up for the Learning Community, students will have opportunities to connect with each other over Lead with Pride-specific social media channels and within fun and interactive Learning Community events.
Learning Community registrants will also be signed up to attend the much anticipated Lead with Pride Speaker Series featuring renowned speakers Denice Frohman (Poet, Performer, Educator), Arsham Parsi (LGBTQ Human Rights Activist) and Ivan Coyote (Performer, Writer)! These speakers will talk about issues that impact LGBTQ2S+ communities and share their thoughts on what meaningful leadership might look like, and on how to build community together, even during this time when we are physically apart. Check our conference program for more details!

Can’t attend every event?
That’s okay! We welcome you to join the Learning Community and attend as many events as you are able to, and encourage you to attend all the events to receive the full scope of learning. We will also have a raffle of exciting prizes to be drawn at the end of the Conference Series for students. For every event you attend, you will receive one entry into the draw. Whether you attend one event or all of the events, you will be included in the raffle.
Got a question? Reach out to LWP’s staff support, Kathy Vi Mac (Program Coordinator, Sexual & Gender Diversity Office) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
*Please note that registration to individual Speaker Series events is open to everyone. You do not have to register for the Learning Community to attend the Speaker Series. If you are not a part of the Learning Community, there is separate registration for the Speaker Series events.
