Queer Orientation: September 19 – 29 on all three campuses
The University of Toronto Sexual & Gender Diversity Office (SGDO) is proud to be working in collaboration with student organizations and University partners* across all three campuses to present Queer Orientation 2014. This year’s series involves many new collaborations and opportunities for students to connect around shared experiences and raise awareness of issues connected to sexuality and gender. All events are open to new and returning students across all three campuses.
Queer Orientation begins on September 19 with three big events, the LGBTOUT Meet n’ Greet on the St. George campus, the OUT@UTM Meet n’ Greet at UTM and SC:OUT’s Open House in Scarborough. This year’s series will see the return of popular events, such as the interactive LGBTQ-focused tour of the St. George Campus & Church/Wellesley Village, UTM Queer Town Hall and Queer Cabaret at UTSC.
New for 2014:
• International Students are invited to a lunch, as part of a new LGBTQ International Student Group
• Issues of LGBTQ Refugees and newcomers to Canada will be highlighted in the Queer Migrations + Ally Night
• New UTM Student can learn about services at the Navigating University BBQ
• Outside the Box will be launching at UTSC – a new monthly lunch series featuring guest speakers and community partners
• Artist CocoRiot will be joining Hart House’s Get Crafty! Series with GenderPoo, showcasing their work and engaging students to discuss gender diversity and representation through creative possibilities for bathroom signage
• Robarts Library will screen Canadian Film “Tru Love” to close off the week
You can find the complete schedule below, or on the new Queer Orientation page.
