OUTSIDE THE BOX to Launch at UTSC

Wednesday, September 24, 2014
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
The Lab in Rex’s Den*

On September 24, students and staff are invited to join in the launch of OUTSIDE THE BOX, a new lunch & conversation series at UTSC!
The theme for our launch is: “What is REAL Community?” The event will feature a discussion with Vijay Saravanamuthu who will talk about his experience as a young person running away to find the skills needed to build community at home in Scarborough.

Following Vijay’s presentation, he will engage us in a conversation looking at questions such as:
• How does your community give you strength?
• When do you feel like you need to hide things from your community?
• What builds the LGBTQ community and other communities in Scarborough?

Everyone is welcome to join us in this important conversation about what it means to build real communities at UTSC, in Scarborough and beyond.

The launch of Outside The Box will be co-presented with the UTSC Equity & Diversity Office.

Lunch is provided. Now let’s get talking.
