QTSOC

What other kinds of events does this program offer?

In addition to the monthly discussion events, QTSOC also offers social programming throughout the academic year. Some events we have hosted in the past include board games and trivia events, attending community drag shows together, cooking sessions and so much more.

Are there any rules?

Building an inclusive and affirming shared space requires that we all work together. We encourage all attendees to share opportunities to speak and to approach conversations with an open mind. Experiences and ideas shared during discussion may be unfamiliar to you or may even be very different from your own. These will be great opportunities for us to grow and learn together. Please also respect the confidentiality of other attendees.

What if I have other questions or suggestions?

If you have an idea for a Q21 discussion or if you have other questions, you are encouraged to attend a session and chat with the hosts after the discussion. You are also welcome to contact us.

Queer & Trans Students of Colour (QTSOC) is a monthly peer-led discussion program for 2SLGBTQ+ and questioning students of colour at the University of Toronto.

QTSOC has completed for the academic year, but will return in fall semester, 2022.

These discussions offer students a space to talk about how sexuality, gender, culture and race affect our lives and communities. We encourage attendees to join us in conversations that challenge racism, homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. Meet other students of colour and share your stories and ideas.
