Queer & Trans Students of Colour Discussion: Climate Change

January 17 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

– What are some ways in which climate change has impacted you? How does climate change specifically affect queer and racialized people?

– How do you deal with anxiety around climate change? What are some ways we can have conversations about climate change without it being overwhelming and defeatist?

– What are some ways we can get involved in climate justice? What can we learn from queer and people of colour movements and cultures that can help in the fight for climate justice?

Join us on January 17th for a discussion circle and social where LGBTQ+, genderqueer, two-spirit, and questioning students of colour will talk about how sexuality and race affects our lives and communities.

LGBTQ+ students of colour are invited to build our communities, share stories and engage in discussion at the Queer Students of Colour Discussion Group. This discussion and social is organized as part of an ongoing series to invite LGBTQ+ students of colour and students questioning their gender and/ or sexual orientation together in a confidential space to share stories and ideas as we build community.

New and returning students across all three campuses are invited to meet other people and join in discussions that challenge racism, homophobia and transphobia.

Come and tell us what you think would help to create more positive spaces and more inclusive conversations!
