Queer Orientation 2015 Planning Meeting #1
Thursday, July 16, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Now that Pride is over, it’s time to look ahead to another Queer Orientation! Queer Orientation is a series of LGBTQ+ focused events that take place on all three U of T campuses annually during the month of September. This year, the tentative week for Queer Orientation is September 18th – 26th, 2015
In preparation for this much anticipated week of events, students and staff are welcome to attend our first Queer Orientation planning meeting of year, which will take place on Thursday, July 16th from 2-4 pm in the Baldwin Room of the Cumberland House (33 St. George Street).
Clubs or organizations that plan on hosting events are encouraged to select one member of their group to sit on our Queer Orientation planning team, though this is not mandatory.
A member from each organization will help to:
- Provide vision and support to the overall QO programming
- Liaise with their group’s executive and general members to get ideas regarding QO programming
- Support the promotions and outreach for QO programming with their members
- Attend QO planning meetings (July – September)
During our first QO meeting, planning members will be able to connect with different campus organizations as we set our goals for the 2015 Queer Orientation. We will be figuring out how we can all work together to build an exciting series of events across all three U of T campuses.
All groups interested in submitting an event should stay tuned for the Queer Orientation event callout coming soon! If you are unsure if your group will be participating, or if you would like to help out with Queer Orientation and you are not part of a group, you are welcome to attend this July 16th meeting or contact Kathy Mac at the Sexual & Gender Diversity Office for more information.
