Q21: A Conversation Café – Queer Time: Coming of Age(s)
January 30 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
This week at Q21 we will be talking about what it means to ‘come of age’ as queer people who are constantly emerging into ourselves and our identities at in different ways and different times throughout our lives. We will discuss:
- What does ‘coming of age’ mean to you? Do you feel like you’ve had multiple ‘coming of ages’ in different aspects of your life?
- What does it mean for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC people to imagine their futures?
- How can we better support each other at all different stages in our journeys?
Our facilitator for this week is a graduate student at OISE and a secret lesbian blogger who writes about coming out stories that expand the ‘born this way’ narrative. She be-came out after completing her undergraduate degree and blundered her way into affirming and asserting her queerness. Currently, she is preparing to launch her professional career, and therefore life milestones are top of mind.
Q21: A Conversation Café is your weekly opportunity to converse and connect with students and guest facilitators about the topics related to LGBTQ+ community. Q21 will take place every Thursday from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. Each week will have a theme and a new guest facilitator.
