Paris is Burning 25th Anniversary Screening and Panel (LGBT Film Series)

Tuesday, February 24, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

This month’s LGBTQ Film Series will host a very special 25th Anniversary Screening of Paris is Burning, followed by a panel discussion.

Paris is Burning is an award-winning film that looks behind the scenes of fashion obsessed New Yorkers who created “voguing” and drag balls, and turned these raucous celebrations into a powerful expression of personal pride. The world within a world is instantly familiar, filled with ambitions, desires and yearnings that reflect America itself. The film also explores issues such as racism, homophobia and AIDS, in an intimate portrait of an urban community in which the allure of high fashion, status and wealth becomes an affirmation of love, acceptance and joy.
