It is with a lot of pride and a dose of bittersweet that I announce that Kathy Vi Mac will be leaving her role as the Program Coordinator at the Sexual & Gender Diversity Office (SGDO) for an exciting new opportunity at Victoria University in the University of Toronto.
In her time at the SGDO, Kathy has played an integral role developing and implementing equity programs, initiatives, and events including Q21, Gender Talk, Queer & Trans Students of Colour Discussion Group, Lead with Pride: U of T’s LGBTQ2S+ Student Leadership Conference, the SGDO Presents series, Pride programming and so much more. Kathy has been a valued mentor to students and advisor to myself and senior members of this university. Her dedication, voice, energy, and perspective have been extraordinary assets to the equity portfolio. She will be incredibly missed, but I know that she will be a tremendous asset to the Victoria community.
Kathy will put her considerable talents to use providing career advising, personal skill development opportunities, and delivering programming designed to support students in their future planning as the new Student Success and Career Advisor for Victoria University in the University of Toronto. Through tailored inclusive workshops responsive to the unique experiences, needs, and identities of Vic students, Kathy will help create opportunities for students to cultivate skills in a community setting including through the Vic Ready program.
Please join me in wishing Kathy well on this next step in her career. Kathy’s last day “in the office” will be June 4 – please reach out to share your well wishes.
