St. George Queer Orientation Planning Meeting
July 6 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Pride may be over but there’s still tons of exciting LGBTQ-focused events happening at U of T throughout the year! We are looking ahead to the 2018 Queer Orientation Week which will take place from Monday, September 24 to Saturday, September 29.
What is Queer Orientation Week? Queer Orientation (QO) is an annual week of LGBTQ-focused programming across all three campuses of U of T during the month of September. QO is an opportunity for new and returning students, staff and faculty to make connections, engage in activities and have discussions related to LGBTQ+ communities.
Are you interested in helping to plan this year’s Queer Orientation week? If you or your club/ group/ department would like to organize Queer Orientation events, be sure to have one or two of your student execs/ staff join the Queer Orientation Planning Meetings taking place on your campus.
Members from each organization will help to:
– Provide vision and support to the overall QO programming
– Liaise with their group’s executive and general members to get ideas regarding QO programming
– Support the promotions and outreach for QO programming with their members
– Attend QO planning meetings (July – September)
During the first planning meeting, members will be able to learn about the history of Queer Orientation and connect with different campus groups as we work together to brainstorm collaborative ideas for events during this year’s QO Week.
If you are unsure about whether or not your group will be participating, or if you would like to help out with Queer Orientation and you are not a part of a group, you are welcome to attend these QO meetings or contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
