Queer & Trans Students of Colour Discussion: Politics of Desire
February 15 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
– What do we culturally understand as desirable in people? How does this impact the way we relate to those around us?
– What impacts/ shapes our preferences when it comes to dating and attraction?
– Why might we want to ask ourselves these (potentially) difficult questions?
– What does it mean to practice decolonial love? Is this important?
Join us on February 15th from 2:30 – 4:30 pm (NEW TIME) for a discussion circle where LGBTQ+, genderqueer, two-spirit, and questioning students of colour will talk about how sexuality and race affects our lives and communities.
New and returning students across all three campuses are invited to meet other people and join in discussions that challenge racism, homophobia and transphobia.
This discussion is organized as part of an ongoing series to invite LGBTQ+ students of colour and students questioning their gender and/ or sexual orientation together in a confidential space to share stories and ideas as we build community.
