Queer & Trans Students of Colour: Media Representation

February 9 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

– Why is media important in our lives? Why is representation important in media and how does it influence our construction of “normalcy”?
– What are your expectations of media? What are some of the limitations of media?
– What are some of the ways we are able to transform media, even as spectators?

LGBTQ+ students of colour are invited to build our communities, share stories and engage in discussion at the Queer Students of Colour Discussion Group. This discussion and social is organized as part of an ongoing series to invite LGBTQ+ students of colour and students questioning their gender and/ or sexual orientation together in a confidential space to share stories and ideas as we build community.

New and returning students across all three campuses are invited to meet other people and join in discussions that challenge racism, homophobia and transphobia.

Snacks will be provided.

LOCATION: 21 Sussex Avenue, Room 421
