Q21: A Conversation Cafe – Finding Community
Thursday, October 5, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
• Why is building a sense of community important to you?
• How do our similarities and differences impact our communities?
• What would make you more comfortable in LGBTQ+ communities at U of T and beyond?
Finding community at the University and within Toronto is an ongoing process and we want Q21 to be a part of your journey. Whether you’re in first year or are a returning student, it can often be difficult to find new places to hang out, to find opportunities to discuss what’s on your mind and to make connections with new students – especially with school, work, family, and additional commitments. Come join us Thursday, October 6th and let’s talk about finding and building community together!
Back for its 6th year, Q21: A Conversation Café is your weekly opportunity to connect with students and guest facilitators about the topics on our minds. Q21 will take place every Thursday from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. Each week will have a theme and a new guest facilitator.
This week we’ll be talking about what we have done to feel more “at home” at U of T and within other communities that we are a part of. We will also be taking suggestions for future Q21 discussion themes to make sure that it will be a space that is positive for everyone all year long! Bring your experiences, thoughts and ideas.
This week’s Q21 will be facilitated by Kathy Vi Mac, the Program Coordinator at the SGDO, and Mahfam, the Q21 Program Assistant.
