Q21: A Conversation Cafe – Exploring Identity in Professional Spaces
November 16 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
– What does it mean to be “out” in the work place?
– What role can and should your identity play throughout your career?
– What value does diversity bring to a professional space?
Join Mary from Career Exploration & Education in conversation about our intersecting identities, experiences and how they relate to the professional spaces we navigate. Each of us has our own unique professional path, and we hope to discuss the ways in which our identities positively influence where our paths lead us.
As a U of T Alumn (BSc ’14 & MEd ’17), Mary is excited to be supporting career development and exploration for all U of T students through 1:1 appointments and workshop facilitation. As an undergraduate student, Mary was passionate about student advocacy as the President of the Innis College Student Society, and as a work study student within the department of Clubs & Leadership Development. For the past three years Mary has worked at the University of Waterloo supporting the personal and academic well-being of students in residence and leading inclusivity trainings for residence life staff. Mary advises on what to do with your degree, career exploration, finding work, applying to further education and more. She looks forward to supporting your career exploration by helping you make meaning of your academic, co-curricular and personal experiences.
Q21: A Conversation Café is your weekly opportunity to connect with students and guest facilitators about the topics on our minds. Q21 will take place every Thursday from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. Each week will have a theme and a new guest facilitator.
