Q21: A Conversation Café – Exploring Resiliency in Community

Thursday, March 9, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

– If resilience is built as a response to stress and adversity, where do we see strengths in our communities on and off campus?

– Is the term “resilience” merely code for putting up with systematic injustices? Or is there a way to respond to structural challenges through community?

– When can we choose to push against unfair systems and when do we have to play by the rules?

Join us for a discussion on resilience and explore how it applies to the lives of queer and trans communities at U of T and beyond.

We’re excited to welcome Rahul Bhat to facilitate this week’s Q21. Rahul has been involved with the SGDO for many years and is currently a Learning Strategist at U of T’s Academic Success Centre. Rahul is also the Project Lead for Student Life’s Resiliency Project.

LOCATION: Room 421 (Lounge), 21 Sussex Avenue
