Q21: A Conversation Café – Mental Health & Well-Being
Thursday, December 1, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
-What does mental health and wellbeing look like for you?
-How are mental health, trauma and oppression connected?
-How can we take care of our mental health individually and as a community?
Join us for the final Q21 session before the winter break! This week we will consider what makes us feel well and unwell and share ideas on how we all adapt and survive. We’ll challenge traditional concepts of mental health as just individual to connect them to experiences of hetero/cis-normativity in our world.
Rahim Thawer will be joing us for this week’s conversation! Rahim is a registered social worker who provides mental health counselling in LGBTQ communities around issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, body image and problem substance use. He is also a queer Muslim organizer with Salaam.
LOCATION: Room 421 (Lounge), 21 Sussex Avenue
Q21: A Conversation Café is your weekly opportunity to connect with students and guest facilitators about the topics on our minds. Q21 will take place every Thursday from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. Each week will have a theme and a new guest facilitator.
