Outside the Box: Coming Out

October 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

– What does “coming out” mean to you?
– How is your coming out story complicated by your racial, sexual and gender identities?
– How can we begin to build new narratives that work for us and our diverse communities?

Did you know that National Coming Out Day is on October 11th, 2017? At this Outside the Box, we will share and explore the complexities of “coming out” to figure out what “coming out” means to us individually. We will discuss the “coming out” narratives that we know of and share our own experiences. We will talk about what it means to be “out” and how this might change as we navigate different spaces and communities.

Outside the Box is a UTSC lunch and conversation series to bring students together every other Wednesday from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Find out more about Outside the Box.

This event is hosted by the UTSC Department of Student Life, the Sexual & Gender Diversity Office and Scarborough OUT (SC:OUT).
