LGBTQ International Students Discussion: “My Mother’s Cooking”
March 19 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Please note that the date of this event has changed to Tuesday, March 19 from 12 – 2 pm.
Nothing tastes quite the same as a home cooked meal from your childhood. Let’s talk about what this means to you now and what your experiences are finding food within the big city of Toronto.
What does it mean when some of us can find the taste of home in commercial restaurants more easily than others? What is your relationship with your cuisine(s) and your culture(s)? What does it mean to create food as multicultural and/or international LGBTQ+ people?
Join the LGBTQ International Students group for a warm, home cooked meal and an even warmer conversation about food, home, and identity! Vegan and gluten-free options available.
This event is also being supported by the UofT Community Kitchen!
LGBTQ International Students events are organized by the Sexual & Gender Diversity Office (SGDO) and the Centre for International Experience (CIE) at the University of Toronto. This group exists to help build a network of students, identify needs, and foster a community on campus. Through the LGBTQ International Student group you will connect with others through fun and exciting activities!
LGBTQ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Questioning and all sexual and gender diversities. The term International Students is also used broadly and includes anyone who may identify themselves as international students regardless of citizenship/immigration status.
