INHALE – Pride Reveal and Social
June 16 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
LGBTOUT is excited to announce the reveal date of the INHALE project: Friday June 16, 2017!
INHALE is a photographic celebration of Queer identity at U of T. Over the course of the last year LGBTOUT has worked with artist Albert Hoang to capture students on campus who are members of the queer community.
The photo series embodies metaphors of breathing. We use breathing as a way to gauge if someone is alive or not. The intimacy of breath reveals a person’s vulnerability as well as their power. Our breaths can be strong, they can be sharp, they can be shaky, and they can be soft. The queer community at U of T breathes and exists in this space.
INHALE: A Celebration of Queer Identity portrays individuals within these communities as tangible, as existing in both domestic and outdoor spaces and refusing to be erased.
The photos from the series will be displayed for the very first time along the walls of Hart House’s Debates Room. We invite you to join us in celebrating Queer identity at U of T. The event will function as a social, with light appetizers available (vegan and gluten-free options included). This is a fantastic opportunity for students to re-connect and meet one another during the month of Pride. We hope to see you there.
This space is accessible to wheelchairs and scooters and there is access to a gender neutral washroom.
Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
