I Can’t Think Straight Film Screening & Discussion
February 14 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
On Valentine’s Day, join the SGDO for a screening of the film I Can’t Think Straight, followed by a discussion on queer media, coming out, colonialism, and people of colour queer identities. During the film and discussion, we will also be enjoying some Valentine’s Day themed treats (with vegan and gluten-free options available)! We hope you will join us!
I Can’t Think Straight is a British romantic drama film about Tala and Leyla’s queer romance. Based on the novel of the same name, it tells the story of a London-based Jordanian of Palestinian descent, Tala, who is preparing for an elaborate wedding when a turn of events causes her to have an affair, and subsequently fall in love, with another woman, Leyla, a British Indian.
